Wilfred "Will" Robinson

Wilfred “Will” Robinson, age 79, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 7:33 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2023, at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Will was surrounded by the love of his family as he entered Heaven’s gates. Will, Canadian born, transferred from London, Canada in 1974 to help plant the new Firestone Steel, NKA Accuride. What was supposed to be a 3 month stint turned into a lifetime in Henderson, KY. He retired from Accuride after more than 30 years. Later in his career, he worked with Gibbs Diecasting, Heartland Enterprises, and Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. Will was a man of strong faith and was a longtime active member at Airline Baptist Church. He was proud of his ministry with Gideons International as well as the many capacities he served in the church. Will was also a member of the Henderson Lions Club where he enjoyed working the telethons and auctions, but most especially serving as a camp counselor at Trooper Island. Will is lovingly remembered by his family as being “Technologically Amish”. He never met a text, phone call, email, or friend request he could ignore which resulted in, to date, 15 Facebook profiles that the family knows of. When he wasn’t busy opening spam mail, Will enjoyed watching westerns, doing word searches, and being meticulous about everything (even if it meant getting a ruler to wrap a present). He had a few pet peeves, too; hospital omelets and bargain cheerios because they “taste like wet cardboard”, and, of course, crumbs in butter. Thankfully, he won’t have to contend with those things anymore. Will is at peace in Glory now. In addition to his parents Glen and Ileen Robinson, Will was preceded in death by his brother Wilson Robinson and a grandson Christian Large. Will is survived by his beloved bride of 38 years, Alice Robinson; daughter Kristie Large (James) of Newburgh, IN; sons: Curtis Robinson (Natalie) of Crofton, MD, Scott Robinson (Christine) of Sarnia, Canada, Christopher Todd Robinson of Windsor, Canada, and Kevin O’Bryan (Andrea) of Robards, KY; sister Shirley Boyd (Dave) of Sarnia, Canada; brothers Kenny Robinson (Terry) and Charlie Robinson both of Sarnia, Canada; grandchildren: Maggie O’Bryan, Hunter Robinson, Bryce Robinson, Brayden Robinson, Cole Robinson, Reid Robinson, Liam Robinson, and Gage Daniel; nieces and nephews; and last but certainly not least, his grand dogs (too many to name). Relatives and friends are invited to Will’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday November 28th at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home and again on Wednesday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Airline Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Airline Baptist Church with Reverend Nathan Whisnant and Reverend Jeremy Aliff officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
