Vicki Kloke Smith

Vicki Kloke Smith, age 70, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:09 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Vicki served 45 years in public education before serving as the first Principal of Arrow Classical Education program at Henderson’s First Baptist Church; a dream of hers come to life. In her almost 5 decades of service, Vicki was an instructor at Murray State and Western Kentucky Universities. She also served as a mentor for students at Campbellsville University. In addition, she served as middle school teacher and curriculum specialist for Ohio County Schools. Vicki was the last Principal for Central Elementary and the first Principal for Central Academy. She was most proud of her final assignment as Principal of Arrow Classical Education. Above all else, Vicki was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she was so proud of them. In addition to her parents, Oscar and Marilyn Kloke, Vicki was preceded in death by brothers: Donald “Butch” Kloke, Steve Kloke, and Robby Kloke. Vicki is survived by her husband of 27 years, Allen W. Smith; daughter Angela Dawn Smith (Sammy) of Manitou, KY; son Joshua Smith (Cindy) of Franklin, KY; sister Joyce Burdon (Tim) of Fredonia, KY; brother John Kloke (Betsy) of Henderson, KY; grandchildren Colbie Smith and Katelyn Durban; great grandchildren: Avery and Rhett Smith, Amelia Durban, and Zoe Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Vicki’s Life Celebration from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home and again on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Henderson’s First Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the church with Reverend Sam Hinkson officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Mills Cemetery in Smith Mills, KY.
