Rebecca "Becki" Jonell Scales Cottingham

Rebecca “Becki” Jonell Scales Cottingham, age 71, of Corydon, KY, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by her husband, her children, her beloved cousin and all their love. Becki was born on August 19, 1954, to Albert and Rachel Scales. While they were blessed with four children, she was their only daughter. Becki was a member of Union Hill General Baptist Church in Corydon for three decades. She enjoyed riding horses, barrel racing, her many dogs, and spending time at the river with her family. More than anything, Becki loved playing with her grandchildren who were the light of her world. Becki was a registered nurse for more than 40 years, so it was fitting that her final days were spent at Select Specialty Hospital with her friends and coworkers who treated her like the queen she was. In addition to her parents, Becki was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Lynn Scales, and her brothers Raymond Scales and Harold Scales. Becki is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert “Bob” Cottingham; daughter Tracee Dickerson and her husband William; son Robert Cottingham, Jr. and his wife Christina; brother Richard Scales and his wife Rita; grandchildren: Ashlee Dickerson, Ryder Cottingham, and Ruby Cottingham; beloved cousin, who was more like a sister, Melissa Survant; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to Becki’s Life Celebration from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Ashby officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler, IN. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Union Hill General Baptist Church, 8556 Whitelick Road, Corydon, KY 42420. Pallbearers will be: Keith Stanley, Seth Stanley, Kyle Stanley, Nicholas Scales, Raymond Scales III, and Ronald Craddock.
