Norma P. Heath

Norma P. Heath, mother and grandmother, passed away at 6:12pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Westpark Nursing and Rehabilitation in Evansville, IN, at the age of 86- she never liked her middle name so we won’t print it. Norma was strong in her faith and enjoyed attending First Christian Church in Henderson. She loved her family more than anything and was happiest when spending time with them. In addition to her parents, Isam and Della Ballard, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Heath, Sr., sister, Maxine Barnett and brothers, Harold Ballard and William Ballard. She will be remembered by friends and family as a kind and loving person with a jovial nature and a zest for laughter; she always had a smile on her face and usually left you with one, too. She raised three children, juggled household and family businesses, and helped to raise seven grandchildren. We are thankful that she was able to meet her first great- grandchild, born 2 years ago. She lost a bit of the spring in her step these past couple of years but fortunately, recollection trumps aging. We’ll always remember homemade Play-Doh, biscuits, and jam muffins (no similarity in recipe), her novel exercise regimen of chasing escaped wayward ponies down the interstate, colorful expressions, and how much she enjoyed a good game of cards. While Grandpa (Harley Health, Sr.) may have been the better card player, Granny was always the most sought after partner in the family. She is survived by her children Harley Heath, Jr. and his wife Debbie, Susie Heath Moore and her husband Ron, and Bill Heath and his wife Michelle, grandchildren Jenny Heath, Jim Heath, Sarah Heath, Carlie Shelton and husband Kelley, Rachel Heath, Katie Heath and Conner Heath; and her great grandchild, Harper Shelton. Nieces and Nephews We will miss her every day. Relatives and friends are invited to Norma’s Life Celebration from 12:00-8:00pm Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 9:00am at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the funeral home with Dr. Chuck Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Henderson Recreation Association.
