Nancy Annabelle Cook

Nancy Annabelle Cook, age 76, of Robards, KY, joined her Lord Jesus Christ in perfect peace at 11:45 PM, Sunday, October 20, 2013, at her son’s home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Nancy was born November 12, 1936 to L.M. & Lillie Hutcheison. Her father was a care taker for Dempewolf Peach Farm, where she lived until, they moved to Henderson when her dad took a job with Osborne Brush. In 1953, Nancy graduated from Barrett Manual Training High School. She married the love of her life in 1955, Donald Louis Cook. Once Donald joined the U.S. Navy in 1956, their family moved frequently to various states all over the country and around the world. After he retired in 1976, they moved their family back to Henderson County. Nancy worked as a secretary at Big Rivers for 11 years before retiring. She was a long time member of Zion Baptist Church, where she enjoyed many years of teaching children the good news of Jesus Christ. Nancy treasured being a grandmother to her three beloved granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her adored husband of 52 years Donald Louis Cook who passed away May 14, 2007, two brothers Little Ronnie & Gary Dale Hutcheison and one sister Carol Thurby. Survivors include: 1 Son: Michael Darrell Cook & wife Robin of Robards, KY; 1 Brother: Leonard Hutcheison & wife Wanda of Henderson, KY; 3 Granddaughters: Heather Cook, Sarah Cook & fiancé Andrew Duncan all of Henderson, KY, and Shawna Goins & husband Travis of Robards, KY; 3 Nieces: Annette Thurby of Henderson, KY, Sharon Samples & husband David of FL, and Nancy McCarnan & husband Jeff of Henderson, KY; 5 Great Nieces: Joy Stoehr, Ashley Samples, Amber Samples, Megan Whitledge, & Morgan McCarnan; 1 Great Nephew: Mason McCarnan; Great Great-Nephew: Maddox Whitledge. Relatives and friends are invited to Nancy’s Life Celebration from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 10:00 AM until service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the funeral home with Reverend Tom Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
