Margaret "Peggy" Coker

Margaret “Peggy” Coker, age 77 of Henderson, KY, passed away (after battling cancer for 25 years) on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice, surrounded by family. Peggy was a lifelong member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was everyone’s mother. She loved children and cared for many of her family and friend’s children. Peggy also worked at the downtown Dollar General Store in Henderson for many years. Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father Margaret A. and John Truman Jenkins Sr., her brothers Phillip and Dennis Jenkins Sr., and infant nephew Dennis Jenkins, Jr. Peggy is survived by her daughter Angie Hallmark (Tommy); nephew and niece of whom she was legal guardian to Daniel Jenkins (Stephanie) and Laura Lott (Matt); grandchildren: Aaron Hallmark, Nick Hallmark (Alex), Autumn Hallmark, Eli Lott, Owen Lott, and Ava Jenkins; brothers: John Jenkins (Kathy), Bill Jenkins (Wanda), Greg Jenkins (Jana), and Kent Jenkins; nieces and nephews: Jennifer Myles, Judy Jenkins, Greg Jenkins, Jr. (Lindsey), Kristi Gray (Greg), Matt Jenkins (Whitney), Hannah Jenkins, Harrison Myles, Caden Jenkins, Cooper Jenkins, Emmett Dodson, Lia Dodson, and Caleb Jenkins; her Companion Felix Esparza. Relatives and friends are invited to Peggy’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
