Lenord Bean,

Lenord Ray Bean, Sr., age 75, of Smith Mills, Kentucky passed away at 3:10 AM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Methodist Hospital surrounded by wife and children. Leonard "Pinto" was a truck driver for many years. He was Ryder Driver of the Year, TRALA Driver of the Year in the U.S. and Canada, NPTC Driver of the Year, TRALA 4,500,000 mile safety award. As a member of Campers on Mission he did the work of the Lord through his knowledge of carpentry. He was a Korean War Veteran 1951-1953, a 50 year member of Corydon Masonic Lodge, Smith Mills Lion Club, Corydon Eastern Star, Rizpah Shrine Club, and West Kentucky Scottish Rite. He was a past member of the Smith Mills Voluntary Fire Dept. He is a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Waiting for Lenord will be his father Mike Bean, his mother Martina Austin LaPradd, his brother J.C. Bean, his sister Sara Adam, his granddaughter Christen Litton-Simpson and great grandson Anthony Daniel Bean. Left to cherish his memories are: Loving wife of 55 years: Joyce Hope Bean Smith Mills, KY Two Daughters: Donna Bean Simpson and husband Keith Henderson, KY Sheila McDonald and husband Randy Henderson, KY Three Sons: Lenord Ray Bean Jr. and wife Vicki Glasgow, KY Joe Bean and wife Debbie Oakland City, IN Terry Bean and wife Rhonda Morganfield, KY Two Sisters: Nan Courtney Corydon, KY Joy Hoskins Henderson, KY Two Brothers: George "Bud" LaPradd Pennsylvania Randall LaPradd and wife Teresa Geneva, KY Special Daughter: Darlene Wilson Smith Mills, KY Nineteen Grandchildren Thirty-one Great Grandchildren Several Nieces & Nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday Sept, 26th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Rev. Dane Gray, Rev. Billy Carter, and Rev. Donald House will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm on Monday the 25th, and from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Benton Glunt Funeral Home Tuesday the 26th, and from 11:30 until service time at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Riverview School. There will be a Masonic service at 7:00 pm on Monday the 25th at the funeral home. Military rites by The American Legion Worsham Post 40.
