Howard “Howie” Stephen Dixon, age 62, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 11:06 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Howie attended Holy Name School and Henderson County High. He graduated from Henderson Community College with Associates in business. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and served as an altar boy when he was a child. Howie served in the United States Marine Corp. for 4 years. He spent the last 25 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed traveling. He loved playing golf, watching sports and spent 8 years as a little league baseball coach in Henderson. Most of all Howie loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Howie was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Dixon, his nephew, Jacob Dixon, his grandparents, Thomas & Frances Nalley and his brother-in-law, Dr. Michael Walker. Survivors include: Wife of 32 years: Janice Pruitt Dixon Father: Charles Dixon and his wife Rena 1 Son: Jeremy Pruitt Littrell and his wife Laci 1 Daughter: Heather Pruitt Knight and her husband Jason All of Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Barbara Walker Henderson, KY Carolyn Turner and her husband Wes Henderson, KY 1 Brother: Bryan Dixon and his wife Kathy Michigan Grandchildren: Chelsea (Jacob) Vaughn, Jaci Russell Rightler, Logan Littrell, Elizabeth Russell, Abbi Roedel, Bryce Knight, Ashton Hanley. Great Granchildren: Prezlei Rightler, Paisley Rightler, Kaylee Vaughn, Bentley Vaughn, Paxton Rightler and Payden Rightler Niece: Audrey Walker Nephew: Dr. Matt Walker He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Howie’s Life Celebration from 2:00- 8:00 PM Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 10:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Larry McBride at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Pallbearers will be Jason Knight, Wes Turner, Matt Walker, Steve Arnett, Keith Slaughters, Jacob Butts Honorary Pallbearers will be Chelsea Vaughn, Jaci Rightler, Elizabeth Russell, Abbie Roedel, Ashton Hanley, Logan Littrell, Bryce Knight Prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
