Harry Lloyd Felty Harry L. Felty age 86 of Henderson, KY. passed away at 10:10 AM, Wednesday June 18, 2008 at Methodist Hospital Henderson, KY. He was preceded in death by 1 sister Bessie Spencer, 5 brothers Rudy Felty Carlos Felty, William Felty Sloan Felty and Henry F. Felty He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He retired from management at Osborn Manufacturing Co. after 38 years. He was a WWII US Army Veteran serving with the 62nd Signal Corp. in Africa and Italy. He attended Murray State University and Evansville College. He was a 50 year member of Jerusulem Lodge #9. For 20 years or more he was chairman of the Henderson Shriners Christmas Parade. As a member of The Order of Eastern Star, he served as past Patron in the Henderson Chapter #186 and as Worthy Grand Patron for the state of KY. He was a leadership figure in the Henderson Industrial Club which developed Osborn Field as one of its first projects. He also played a prominent role in helping raise money in 1948 so that The Henderson Community could buy the local hospital from the federal government which the Methodist Church agreed to operate. He worked for many years with the youth in Junior Achievement. He was a member of the Elks Club #206 for 24 years. He was a member of the Toastmasters Club. He served on the Board of Directors for Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center. He also served on the board of The Gathering Place. He served as the State and Local President of Travelers Protective Association (TPA). He was a member of the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Survivors include: Wife of 62 years: Charlotte Felty of Henderson, KY 2 Daughters: Brenda Young Henderson, KY Elana Stone and husband Sam Robards, KY 5 Grandchildren: Carolene Denton and her husband Jeff Henderson, KY Bill Young Las Vegas, NV. Nicholas Young Cleveland Ohio Sarah Stone Robards, KY. Meredith Stone Robards, KY. 3 Great-Grand Children: Marcus Shelton Henderson, KY Kyle Shelton Henderson, KY. Olivia Shelton Henderson, KY 2 Step-Great Grand Children: Vicki Hedgepath Morganfield, KY Scott Denton Cairo, KY 2 Great -Great Grand Children 3 Step Great- Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday June 23, 2008 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY. Full military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday June 22, 2008 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. and from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday. Masonic Services by Jerusulem Lodge #9 will be held at 7:00 PM. Sunday evening.
