Glenna Dean "Deannie" Newman Luntsford

Glenna Dean “Deannie” Newman Luntsford, age 75, of Henderson, KY, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Glenna was affectionately called “Deannie”. She continued raising her four children after losing her husband in 1987. She went on to put herself through college. Deannie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She retired from Brenntag in 2017. She was a faithful member of Oak Hill Chrisitan Center in Evansville, IN for 25 years and worked in children’s ministries and intercessory prayer. Deannie was also a talented seamstress. She stayed active with her water aerobics group the “Chattering Mermaids”. She also had a group of friends and family with whom she enjoyed playing cards and board games. Deannie was a beacon of compassion and purveyor of Christ’s love to all who knew her. Her journey was a gleaming example of faithful servitude. Mother, sister, friend, teacher, and care giver; remember her for giving all to her children, her church and her Lord. Deannie was preceded in death by her late parents George Wesley and Eva Dean Newman and her husband Walter Lee Luntsford. Deannie is survived by her daughters Sabrina Zeidler (John) of Evansville, IN and Lydia Mays of Henderson, KY; sons Lee Luntsford (Melinda) of Henderson, KY and Jeremiah Luntsford (Kiera) of Mankato, MN; sister Gayle Griggs (Jeff) of Bardstown, KY; brothers: Wesley Newman (Martha), Jim Newman (Lisa), Bill Newman (Debbie), Steve Newman (Becky), and Roger Newman (Kathy) all of Henderson, KY; 10 grandchildren: Zachariah Luntsford, Max Baker, Malia Baker, Coleton McMurtry, Camryn McMurtry, Caden Zeidler, Charlotte Mays, Tobias Luntsford, Jaron Luntsford, and Clara Luntsford; and 1 great-grandchild Gwendolen McMurtry. Relatives and friends are invited to Deannie’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Faughn officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
