Elizabeth Kirsch

Frances Elizabeth Kirsch, age 88, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 11:05 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Elizabeth loved to visit Las Vegas where she enjoyed the lights and sounds of the strip. She took a lot of pride in looking her best at all times with her makeup done and jewelry on. She was known for the pretty scarves she wore. Elizabeth met Paula Deen and loved following her career. She was known for her amazing southern cooking, with specialties such as chocolate éclair and German chocolate cake. Elizabeth loved to can vegetables from her garden. When time allowed, she was very active in her church. Her women’s group had accessory sales and she loved to organize the purses and jewelry for these events. Elizabeth was a huge UK fan. Red was her favorite color. Many items throughout her home were red including her dishes, cookware, scarves, appliances and more. In addition to her parents, James William Rogers and Junie Nichols Rogers, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Norman K. Kirsch, 5 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Survivors include: 1 Son: Raye Kirsch and Sara Henderson, Kentucky 1 Daughter: Kaye Hazelwood and husband Bill Henderson, Kentucky 6 Grandchildren: Jeremy Kirsch, Mindy Duncan and husband Curt, Branden Kirsch and wife Liz, Carey Hazelwood and wife Sherri, Shawn Hazelwood and wife Lindsay, Melanie Adams and husband Ryan. 13 Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Elizabeth’s Life Celebration from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, September 1 at Benton Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Henderson with the Reverend Mark Moog officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville, IN. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: Trinity Lutheran Church in Henderson and St. Anthony’s Hospice.
