Eufa Geraldine “Gerry” Ladd Vick, age 84, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. Gerry was born June 5, 1929 in Henderson, KY to Richard and Eula Ladd. As an adult she was a homemaker and after 18 years at home raising her family, she then became a secretary at Mt. Vernon Senior High School. Gerry also worked for many years in human resources at Babcock & Wilcox. At that time, she attended University of Evansville and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. She then went to work as an insurance agent for Freeman, Will & Niemeyer. She was an active member of New Life Church and was very involved with the church Missionary Society. Gerry’s hobbies were quilting, baking, reading books and working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother; William Ladd. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Joetta Vick and husband Gerald McCown of Florida 1 Son: David Vick and wife Theresa of Evansville, IN 1 Sister: Lois Chandler of Henderson, KY 3 Granddaughters: Nichole Hickman and husband Craig Jennifer Adler and husband Matt Allison Martin and husband Willie 5 Great Grandchildren: Emma, Katie and Maddie Hickman Elizabeth and Isabella Adler Several Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Gerry’s Life Celebration from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, May 25, 2014 and again on Monday starting at 9:00 AM at Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Jeff Harford officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Pallbearers will be Craig Hickman, Matt Adler, Willie Martin, Gerald McCown, Bobby Liles and Darryl Liles.
