Betty Jo Taylor

Betty Jo Taylor, age 77, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 4:47 P.M., Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Jo was a strong and hardworking woman who was prominent in her community as Market President at Old National Bank. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce as well as many local boards until she retired in 2006. In 1998, the chamber awarded Jo with the Athena Award, a prestigious award presented to individuals who demonstrate professional excellence, contribute to their communities, and actively help women achieve their full leadership potential. During retirement, Jo and her husband enjoyed living at Lake Barkley and spending their days out in the water in their boat. Jo adored her grandchildren and spending time with them, teaching them how to cook her recipes and passing down traditions from generations passed. One of the things Jo loved doing for her grandchildren was making sure they each received a card for every holiday on the exact day of that holiday. Jo sent out daily inspirational or silly texts to the whole family; she cherished them and the memories they made together. Jo was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Betty Davis. Jo is survived by her husband of 43 years, Randal A. Taylor; daughters Stephanie Leigh Clark (Rob) of Henderson, Kentucky and Shelley Gibson (Steve) of Henderson, Kentucky; son Dallas Michael Rudd (Rachel) of Henderson, Kentucky; sisters: Jane Johnson of Clermont, FL, Dianne Todd (Clinton) of Henderson, KY, Sue Sigler (Mike) of Lebanon, PA, and Judy Davis of Clermont, FL; grandchildren: Taylor Rudd, Gracie Gardner, and Reagan Rudd; and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Jo’s Life Celebration on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and will be officiated by Chaplain Dayne Bogard. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky.
