William G. "Bubba" Knight

William G. “Bubba” Knight, age 85, of Zion, KY, passed away at10:30 AM, Monday, December 19, 2016, at Methodist Hospital. Bubba started working at the age of 12 on the family farm. He worked as a route salesman for Utley Distributing for 20 years and Henderson Creamery for 29 years. In his later years he worked for Knight’s Landscaping and Lawn Care. Bubba spent 3 years in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He loved watching Kentucky Basketball. He was an avid golfer that spent many days on the course at the Henderson Country Club. He was a member of the Elks Club and Zion Baptist Church. Bubba was preceded in death by his mother Rowena Henderson Crenshaw, his 1st wife of 34 years Shirley Knight, his 2nd wife of 17 years June Knight, his daughter, Sharon Knight Givens, 2 sisters, Betty Sigler and Dorothy Cunningham, and his Step- Daughter, Sharon Varble. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Shelley Steimel and husband Kevin of Zion, KY 3 Sons: Bruce Knight and wife Robin Jason Knight and wife Heather both of Henderson, KY Brad Knight and wife Brenda of Tallahassee, FL 1 Step-Daughter: Kim Duncan and husband Greg of Henderson, KY 1 Step-Son: Randy Norman and his wife Sondra of Dixon, KY 2 Sisters: Jane Mahler of Temecula, CA Mary Ruth Gardner of Naples, FL 4 Brothers: Hiriam Knight and wife Barbara of Zion, KY Buddy Knight of Henderson, KY Jim Knight and wife Sue of Lexington, KY Walker “Bunk” Knight of Decatur, GA 15 Grandchildren: Luke Alderson and fiancé Lauren Dasher, Alex Knight and fiancé Jourdan Donahoo, Whitney Downey and husband Andrew, Shannon Duckworth and husband Matt, Shawna Wharton and husband Damion, Stefanie Nunn, Samantha Nunn, Bradley Knight, Kurt Knight and wife Katie, Shawn Varble and Michael Varble, Paula Bradley, Heath Norman, Megan Duncan and Aaron Duncan. 41 Great Grandchildren Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Bubba’s Life Celebration from 3:00- 8:00 Wednesday, December 21, 2016 and again on Thursday starting at 10:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Brother Randy Norman officiating assisted by Bradley Knight. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY .Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
