Ruth E. Evans Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth E. Evans, age 89, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 3:04 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Mary Smith, her husband George Evans, 2 sons Kenny Evans and Steve Evans, and 4 daughters Caron Rideout, Sharon Murch, Linda Durbin, and Glenda Pippin. Ruth was born to Hugh and Mary Smith and grew up in Henderson with 7 siblings. She was a homemaker who loved children, all children. Ruth fostered children for many years and also had an in-home daycare. Children, both hers and others, brought her such joy. She is survived by her 2 daughters Elizabeth Lawless and her husband David of Eddyville, KY and Rhonda Speaks and her husband Ray of Henderson, KY; 1 son George Nichols of Henderson, KY; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Ruth’s Life Celebration from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Pallbearers will be Andy Buchanan, David Parrish, Jeff Parrish, Steve Evans, Scott Durbin, and Randy Evans.
