Patricia Ann "Mama Pat" Pirtle

August 17, 1937 - January 13, 2022

Patricia Ann “Mama Pat” Pirtle, age 84, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Mama Pat was an awesome mother, great friend, above average talker, and terrible card player. She never met a stranger and could encourage even the quietest person into a conversation. Mama Pat loved her job at Wal-Mart (the old one) where they kept her in the back in fabrics. She loved hugs and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Mama Pat was preceded in death by her parents Guy and Mazie Overby. She is survived by her husband of 66 years George Pirtle of Henderson, KY; daughter Cheryl Gower and her husband Terrye of Henderson, KY; sons Greg Pirtle and his wife Debbie of Robards, KY and Larry Pirtle and his wife Audra of Cairo, KY; 8 grandchildren: Sean Haner, Kris Haner (Abbie), Shay Pirtle, Tosha Overton (Walt), Kim Wallace, Gabe Pirtle (Raven), Kayleigh Gower, and Kesley Gower (Collin); and 15 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Mama Pat’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of St. Anthony’s Hospice for their love and compassionate care given to Mama Pat.
