Oscar Lee “Tiny” Turner, 101 years of age, has gone to join his wife, Viola and other departed family members in Christ’s Kingdom. Born in Smith Mills, KY, he was the second youngest of nine brothers and sisters. He attended school all 12 years there in one school building. Tiny was a master electrician for 40 years and a retired member of the IBEW for about 40 more. When he married, he moved to Henderson where he remained the rest of his life. His hobbies revealed many skills included building additions to his home, a garage, and a lovely cabin at Barkley Lake. Anyone who ever met him almost always became his friend for life. He was a Mason. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church on 3rd and Green Street from the time he arrived in Henderson and carried out many duties and responsibilities in the church until an accident late in life limited his mobility. Tiny was so proud when his “kids” surprised him with a 100th year birthday celebration at the church he loved. He is survived by his son Larry Denton and his wife Wanda of Evansville, IN; sister Bobbie Eubanks of Cairo, KY; 2 grandsons Mark Denton and his wife Debbie and Lanny Denton and his wife Melinda; 2 great-grandchildren Matthew Denton and his wife Maddie and Rusty Denton; 2 great-great grandsons Noah and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. Due the severity of the COVID virus and the safety concerns involved all services will be private. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions in his name to First United Methodist Church, 338 Third Street, Henderson, KY, 42420 or St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S. Green Street, Henderson, KY, 42420 where he received so much love from an amazing staff of ladies who deeply cared for him. Arrangements entrusted to Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home, A Life Celebration® Home, online condolences may be made at www.bentongluntandtappfuneralhome.com.
