Marilyn Ruth Tucker Francis Pleasant Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marilyn Ruth Tucker Francis Pleasant, age 82, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 11:11 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Marilyn was raised in Linton, KY before marrying her first husband Windell Francis. She retired from The Gleaner after 27 years. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, crafting, crossword puzzles, and singing. She would often sew her children’s clothes when they were young. Marilyn was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, served as Sunday school superintendent for many years, and was a member of the church choir. In the late 1960’s she and her family were stationed in Panama for 3 years where she fell in love with the tropical weather. Most of all, Marilyn adored her children and grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Jewell and Ellis Tucker, husband Windell Francis, grandson James Dillon Sugg, sisters Vevah Hargrove and Bessie Lorraine Tucker, and her son-in-law Danny Hampton. She is survived by her daughters Wendy Sugg (Skip) of Henderson, KY and Diane Hampton of Cadiz, KY; son Mike Francis (Cindy) Henderson, KY; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 niece and 1 nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to Marilyn’s Life Celebration from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the church with Reverend Rick Nollmann officiating.
