Gary D. Attebery, age 67, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 10:09 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Deaconess Heart Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Betty Attebery. Gary had many loves, but the love of his life was his wife Lisa. They enjoyed bowling, playing golf, scrabble, and just being together. He was known as “Poppy” by all of his grandkids. He was sometimes called “Gary Bob” and in return who knows what he would call you. Gary and his wife are the proud owners of L.N.G. Builders. He was a proud craftsman, and his work is located all throughout Henderson County. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Lisa Attebery of Henderson, KY; children: Julie Lawrence (Josh) of Henderson, KY, Lori Reed (Neal) of Henderson, KY, Thomas Fears of Evansville, IN, Kensi Belt (Derek) of Henderson, KY, and Sara Riggins (Brent) of Evansville, IN; sister Charlotte Attebery of Roxanna, IL; brothers Reggie Attebery of Newburgh, IN, Kevin Attebery of Prescott, AZ, and Tim Attebery of Kingsport, TN; and 8 grandchildren: Jacob, Wesley, Deegan, Molly, Zoe, Brody, Cooper, and Hudson. Relatives and friends are invited to Gary’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Steve Hale officiating.
