Frank Thomas Knight Sr.

Frank Thomas Knight, Sr., age 77, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:42 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital in Henderson, KY. Frank was born on January 4, 1945 to Robert and Ella Knight Jones. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Frank retired from Peabody Coal after 34 years of service. He was a Christian man and a member of Bellfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching and feeding hummingbirds, playing guitar and watching Jeopardy. Most of all, Frank loved spending time with his sidekick Cameron that he called “Boomerang”. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his step-father Tommy Jones, and sister Vikki Staley. Frank is survived by his wife of 20 years Faye Knight of Henderson, KY; daughter Tami Hoggatt of Nashville, TN; 6 sons: Frank Knight, Jr. and his wife Kim of Spottsville, KY, Todd Knight and his wife Cindy of Florida, Allen Knight of Marietta, GA, Logan Knight of Terra Haute, IN; Darrel Townsend and Jeff Townsend both of Henderson, KY; 2 brothers: Bob Knight and his wife Sandi of Bowling Green, KY and Bill Jones and his wife Teresa of Marion, IL; grandchildren: Kirk Knight, Zack New, Hilary Knight, Ashley Bocock, Abigail Knight, Dylan Townsend, Cameron Townsend, Colton Townsend, Matthew Hoggatt, Jacob Hoggatt, and Ethan Hoggatt; great-grandchildren: Zoe, Hudson, Everlee, Hunter, Summer, Grayson, Kennidy, Conner, Kaelyn, Integrity, Ahnor, and Emery. Relatives and friends are invited to Frank’s Life Celebration from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #40.
