Floyd "Osco" Ivie Sr.

Floyd “Osco” Ivie, Sr., age 63, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:28 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022. He was at home and under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. He was born November 25, 1958, to the late Marvin R. Ivie and Earline Frederick Ivie. He is preceded by his brother; Harvey R. Ivie, Sr. in 2000 and infant son Robert R. Ivie in 1981. Osco loved to fish, watch westerns, country music, and his dog “Mouse”. Before his disability in 1999 he farmed and did construction work. He was of Catholic faith. At the age of 11, his family moved from Corydon, KY to Lawndale in Henderson, KY. Lawndale is where he met his best friend, his wife of 46 years, Sherry Davis Ivie. His wife survives him along with 3 daughters: Jessica Spurlock (Kevin), Amanda M. Goins, and Miranda Johnston; 3 sons: Floyd Ivie, Sr., Joshua Ivie (Emily), and Andrew Ivie (Sheri) all of Henderson, KY. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Bryce Spurlock (Karli), Justin Spurlock, Uriah Johnston, Cheyanne, Julie, Lila, and Aloy Ivie all of Henderson, KY, Dustin Willett (Sadonna) of Elizabethtown, KY, Hunter Goins (Madison) of Booneville, IN, Harlan L. Willett of Poole, KY, and Corbin Goins of Wyoming; 5 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Brandon, Wynonna, and Della Ray Spurlock of Henderson, KY, and Harlan James Willett of Elizabethtown, KY; 5 nephews: Harvey Ivie (Jessica), Charlie Ivie, Joseph Ivie, William Woodard, and Noah Laughary; 3 nieces: Christina Duncan (Joe), Sarah Woodard, and Danielle Woodard. He is also survived by his uncle Harold Frederick (Charlene) of Corydon, KY, several great-nephews and nieces, and a host of cousins and in-laws. He will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Floyd’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Jody Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
