Buena Mae Hays Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Buena Mae Hays, age 89, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:43 p.m., on Monday, July 25, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. Buena worked for her family business Henderson Creamery for many years before becoming a homemaker. She served on the Henderson Planning Commission and was former City Commissioner. Buena was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was an avid UK basketball fan; her family knew not to call when a game was on. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis and Ruby Wilson, husband Ralph G. Hays, and her siblings; Ralph Wilson, Josh Wilson, Edward Wilson, Donald Wilson, and Luella Carter. Buena is survived by her sister Elna Owens (Everett) of Davenport, IA; daughters: Becky Willett (Darrell) of Henderson, KY, Yvonne Hays Cross of Spring Hill, TN, and Donna Jean Hays of Henderson, KY; son Jere Hays (Debra) of Henderson, KY; grandchildren: Andrea Green (Tracy), Vanessa Sadler (Joshua), Travis Hays (Breea), Charlotte Bugg (Jeremy), John Cody Hays (Amber), Starr Underwood (Jared), Brad Gish (Christa), and Jodi King Gish (Katherine); great-grandchildren: Preston and Maggie Green; Justice, Josiah, and Jireh Sadler; Bentley and Harper Hays, Xavier Ryan and Chloe Mae Bugg; Addison Mae Hays, Madolyn Jade Hays, Abigail Grace Stone and Molly Ann Stone; Haylie Givens, Seth Givens, and Landon Gish; and a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Buena’s graveside service, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY with a celebration reception to follow.
