William Steven "Steve" Bennett

William Steven “Steve” Bennett, age 64, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Steve was born and raised in Henderson, KY and was a 1971 graduate of Henderson County High School. He worked for Dana Corporation for over 37 years. He was a Union member of the United Steel Workers of America, and a member of Zion Baptist Church. Steve attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for the last 25 years, he owned a Harley Davidson and enjoyed riding. He loved NASCAR and his favorite driver was Sterling Marlin. He was most comfortable in his blue jeans and always wore Harley t-shirts. Steve loved his grandchildren, his family, and fishing at a place he fondly named “Hook Leg Lake”. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wm “Billy” Bennett, and a brother, George Bennett, his grandparents, Miles and Bet Bennett, special aunt and uncle, Snookie and Delmer Brown, and his brother-in-law, Jim Puckett. Survivors include: Wife of 8 years: Terri Bennett of Henderson, KY 2 Sons: Bryan Bennett and his wife Natalie of Henderson, KY Matthew Bennett and Rey Vinluan of Seattle, WA 2 Step-Sons: Allen Todd and his wife Kristie Alex Todd and Kayla Thomas Step-Daughter: Amanda Todd and Joel Barrett Brother: Cooksey Bennett and his wife Nancy All of Henderson, KY Sister: Karen Puckett of Calvert City, KY Cousin: Judy Bozza and husband Jack of Braselton, GA Mother: Charlene Alexander and her son Myles Bennett In-Laws: Jim and Rita Trader Sister-In-Law: Susie Hust and husband John Brother-In-Law: Jim Trader Jr. All of Henderson, KY 2 Grandchildren: Caitlin Bennett and Judson Bennett 6 Step- Grandchildren: Anne Marie Todd, Parker Todd, Emma Todd, Zach Scott, Cassie Scott, Brianna Scott 1 Great Granddaughter: Ava Bostic Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Steve’s Life Celebration from 3:00- 8:00 PM Monday and again on Tuesday starting at 12:00 PM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the funeral home with Brother Steve Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Pallbearers will be Jim Trader Jr., Jim Watkins, Josh Bennett, Tony Haire, Joel Barrett, Martin Barrett and Scott Gold.
