Sharon Lee "Nonny" Harris

Sharon Lee “Nonny” Harris, age 67, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:36AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Methodist Hospital. Sharon was born in 1946 to parents Foley and Lena Dillard in Louisville, KY. Her dad served in WWII and worked in road construction building interstates. Her mother was a homemaker. Sharon graduated from Emanuel High School in Louisville in 1964. Her family moved to Henderson where she met the love of her life William “Heap” Harris. She was immediately loved by both him and his family. He worked in construction out of the labor union. They had a river camp when their children were growing up and there they enjoyed family time together hunting, fishing and playing cards. They were a family who loved being together; they were inseparable. Sharon was a full time homemaker until she had to go to work after “Heap” died. She worked many places, and retired from Scott Paper Manufacturing. Sharon’s passion and first love was her family. She raised her children and her second grandchild. In addition to her parents and the love of her life, her husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Shannon Lynn Sanders and a Brother, Alfred Dillard. Survivors include: 1 Son: Dennis Harris and his wife Lisa 2 Daughters: Angela Sanders and her husband Cary Kim Harris and her partner Cary Greenwell 1 Brother: James Dillard 2 Sisters: Faye Bower and Gayla Peach 5 Grandchildren: Michael Holland, Erica Sanders, Sara Darnell, Holly Darnell and Ryan Sanders 1 Great Grandchild: Jordan Alexander Nieces and Nephews She will be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sharon’s Life Celebration from 4:00-8:00PM on Thursday, and again on Friday from 10:00AM until service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Minister Fred Girdwood will officiate with the help of Robert W.L.
