Rosa Maria Laboy-Bourg

Rosa Maria Laboy-Bourg, age 80, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Rosa devoted her life to her faith, her family, and her students. A beloved mother, grandmother, (“Buela”), sister, and friend, she had a gift for making people feel welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved; she was the glue that held them together. Family time and family trips were a vital part of her life. Rosa was a dedicated educator for more than three decades. She was a bilingual teacher, and she fostered relationships with her students that stood the test of time. Rosa’s faith was very important to her. She was a devout catholic and was an active member at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church when her health permitted. Rosa’s laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family will be missed beyond words. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents Luis Antonio Laboy Torres and Liduvina Pagán, her husband Stephen Bourg, Sr., sister Miriam Laboy, and brother Luis Antonio Laboy, Jr. Rosa is survived by daughters Aimee Rosell of Newburgh, IN, and Adrianna M. Bourg of Henderson, KY; son Stephen Bourg Jr. (Candace) of Henderson, KY; sister Sonia Wilp of Cincinnati, OH; brothers: Domingo Laboy (Tracy) of Tampa, FL, Miguel Laboy (Marta Rojas) of Ponce, Puerto Rico, David Laboy (Marta Laboy) of Texas City, TX, Manuel Laboy (Grisel) of Tracy, CA, and Samuel Laboy of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; grandchildren: Esperanza Rosell, Isabella Rosell, Annelisa Rosell, Alessandra Rosell, Douglas Rosell, Jr., Evee Rosell, Azmerrelda Bourg, Stephen “Tre” Bourg, III, Elijah Bourg, and Eliana Bourg; great-granddaughter Sophia Lauderdale; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laurie Chavira for the long-term friendship and loving care she provided Rosa for more than 15 years, as well as The Langston family for their excellent care giving and their attentiveness to Rosa. Relatives and friends are invited to Rosa’s Life Celebration from 10:00 A.M until service time Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
