Ronald W. McGarrh, age 68, of Owensboro, KY, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Jewish Memorial Hospital in Louisville, KY. Ronnie loved life and truly enjoyed his years here though they were too brief. He was loving, relaxed, laid back, and rarely showed anger. Ronnie was a goofy guy who loved fast cars and Taco John’s. He had a dry sense of humor that often left his family laughing and saying, “I don’t get it!”. He always had a quirky made-up song that he loved singing loudly and off key for any occasion. Ronnie was a strong man of faith. He loved the Lord and spent his life spreading the word of God. In addition to pastoring, Ronnie worked in many different fields and was a bit of an entrepreneur. Some of his career paths include a deli butcher, owning McGarrh’s Cookie Jar, and truck driving, all while making time to preach when called on. He was a hardworking man, so when the opportunity arose, Ronnie loved vacations and traveling. What Ronnie treasured more than anything was his family. He was a loving husband who adored his wife. His love for his daughters knew no bounds. He would be quick to share how proud he was of them for the accomplishments they achieved. Ronnie’s family included his pets, whom he cherished. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Doug and Marie McGarrh and his pets: Pebbles, Zac, and Rascal. He is survived by his wife of 18 years Connie McGarrh of Owensboro, KY; daughters Lynnsey McGarrh and Lori McGarrh both of Lexington, KY; sons by marriage Cole Bell and Aaron Bell both of Owensboro, KY; brothers Cary McGarrh (Ann) and Barry McGarrh (Joanne) both of Henderson, KY; nieces and nephews; pets Darla and Biscuit; grand pets: Zoey, Lucy, and Sage. Relatives and friends are invited to Ronnie’s Life Celebration from 11:00 until service time on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Bob Russell officiating. The family has requested the burial be a private family gathering.
