Retha Sue “Susie” Eshbaugh Retha Sue “Susie” Eshbaugh, age 55, of Reed, KY, passed away, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Methodist Hospital. Susie grew up in Spottsville, KY. She attended Spottsville Elementary School and graduated in 1976 from Henderson County High School. Susie worked at Zenith where she made TV cabinets and then later went to work for Alcan Aluminum. In 1988 she met Todd and they married in 1992. Susie was extremely tight with her high school friends and remained close to them long after graduation. Susie enjoyed playing in the woman’s softball league and played on several church leagues and even a work league. She generally played first base but could play any position needed. Susie had a special gift for growing plants and vegetables. She was baptized at Spottsville Baptist Church. Susie was really close with her family and was always there for anyone who needed her. Susie was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Eugene White, 2 brothers, Sandy Lee Watkins and David Lacer. Survivors include her loving husband, Todd Eshbaugh, her mother, Sharon Watkins and step father Sanford, two sons, Zachary Coleman and Taylor Eshbaugh, one step son, Adam Coleman and wife Jaina of AK, one daughter, Lauren Eshbaugh, two step brothers, Harlan Watkins and wife Jane and Ruben Watkins and wife Saundra of CA, two sisters-in-law, Susie Watkins and Caron Eshbaugh, one brother-in-law, Tim Eshbaugh and wife Staci, four nephews, Matthew Watkins, Christian Watkins and companion Heather Busby, Drew and Zack Eshbaugh, one niece, Danielle Eshbaugh, two great nieces, Kim Libby and husband Ric of Tacoma, WA and Sarah Watkins, two step nephews, Sean and Harlan Watkins and one step niece, Christie Schaad and husband Heath and four great step nieces of CA. Relatives and friends are invited to Susie’s Life Celebration from 3:00-8:00 P.M, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 and again on Thursday starting at 10:00 AM at Benton- Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, with the Reverend Barry Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Reed, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Henderson Christian Community Outreach or the Charity of Choice.
