Paul Felix "Bear" Griffin

Paul Felix “Bear” Griffin, age 77, of Henderson, KY, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his home. Felix was born May 3, 1937, and at just 3 weeks old his father was struck by lightning and died. He was raised by his maternal grandparents Jim and Nellie Willingham on their farm. He went to Niagara School and at a young age left school to go to work. He met the love of his life Joy Tolbert in 1953 and they married in 1956. He worked at Whirlpool for 34 years, and did a lot of farming on the side with lots of help from his children. He was a member of Bellfield Baptist Church for 33 years were he was an Usher for the church for a very long time. Felix was a strong and quiet man who loved his family more than anything. Felix was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his parents: Ila Griffin and Lucille Moss, Half- Brother: Ila “Pert” Davis Griffin. Survivors include: Wife of 57 years: Joy Griffin; 1 Daughter: Melissa Ray and husband Greg; 3 Sons: Timmy Griffin and wife Tami, Rev. Keith Griffin and wife Cindy, and Chad Griffin and wife Anna all of Henderson County; 1 Half-Brother: Richard Moss and wife Ann; Half-Sisters: Patricia Kitchens and husband Klon; 1 Half- Sister- in- Law: Dottie Griffin; 12 Grandchildren: Tessa Clement and husband Corey, Misty Carroll and husband Brent, Tara Pollack and husband Jacob, Josh Griffin and wife Ashley, Tyler Griffin and wife Lindsey, Cassie Crowder and husband Justin, Jeremiah Griffin and wife Brittney, Tritney Hallmark and husband Kevin, Raven Ray and husband Jesse, Kelsey Stone, Alex Griffin, and Chanda Griffin; and 16 Great Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Felix’s Life Celebration from 3:00-8:00 PM, Friday and again on Saturday starting at 9:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the funeral home with the Dr. Phillip Basinger officiating assisted by Reverend Keith Griffin. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bellfield Baptist Church Building Fund
