Mary E. "Libby" Peck

Mary E. “Libby” Peck, age 65, of Henderson, KY passed away at 10:35 P.M. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the home of her son. Libby was born and raised in the Reed/Beals, KY area and lived there as a young girl. Her father, Willard "Bill" Robinson was in the U.S. Navy and her mother, Wilma Thompson Brown, worked to help raise the children. She graduated from Henderson City High School. At the age of 17 years old she married Macky Varble. They had known each other since she was 14 and together had 3 children. She attended Beals Pentecostal Church. Her second marriage was to Richard Peck and a son was born to their union. Her fondest memories were of fishing on the Ohio River at Newburgh Dam and later continued to fish although she was confined to a wheelchair. She was a nursing assistant at Gertha Nursing Home and manager at Sam Bo’s Restaurant in Evansville, IN. The Beals community would remember when she worked for Cagey’s Store. Her favorite music was Elvis Pressley and Rascal Flatts. Her family remembers how much she loved candy, candy of all types! Mary Jane’s was her absolute favorite. She cherished her black teacup poodle, Diva. Libby was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Griffin, and brother, Raymond “Ray” Robinson. Survivors include: 3 Sons: Tim Varble and wife Donna of Henderson, KY Richie Varble and wife Christina of Henderson, KY Brad Peck and wife Kelly of Bloomington, IL 1 Daughter: Kaye Smith and husband Billy of Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Sandy Jones of Evansville, IN Robin Brown Herbert of Evansville, IN 1 Brother: Mike Robinson of Reed, KY Caregivers: Kim Murch Morgan & Carmen Robinson Johnson 14 Grandchildren: Timothy Varble, Cera Stone, Cheyenne Varble, Eric Markwell, Mary Markwell, Shanelle Hayden, Braden Peck, Bryer Peck, Brody Peck, Brianna Peck, Dylan Peck, Marcus Beekman, Gage Beekman, Micah Lowry 8 Great-Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Libby’s Life Celebration from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and again on Thursday starting at 10:00 AM until service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the funeral home with the Brother J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
