Linda Josephine Goldsberry

Linda Josephine Goldsberry, a devoted wife, step-mother, granny, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024. Linda, born on May 13, 1943, dedicated 44 years of her life to a loving marriage with the late Robert Goldsberry and selflessly embraced the role of step-mother, helping raise his three cherished children. Linda's passion for the art of sewing was a testament to her creativity and dedication. As a skilled seamstress, she poured her heart into her craft and spent lots of time sewing with her grandchildren. Her nimble fingers wove not only fabric but also the threads of love and care that bound her family together. She encouraged her grandchildren to “work” in her shop, helping them sew clothing for their dolls and costumes for parties. An unwavering faith in God guided Linda throughout her life, and she found solace and joy in attending church alongside her beloved husband. Their shared spiritual journey strengthened the bond between them and created a foundation of love and support that sustained them through the years. Henderson, Kentucky, held a special place in Linda's heart. She loved her town deeply and cherished the warmth of her neighbors. Linda's legacy is one of love, resilience, and community. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she so dearly loved. In addition to her parents, Starling Gibson and Lillian Gibson, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” George Goldsberry, her step-son, Travis Goldsberry, and her brothers Jim Gibson and Sonny Gibson. Linda is survived by step-daughters, Stacey Clugston (Brian) and Tracie Creamer (Sean) both of Florida; grandchildren: Paige Creamer (Jay), Logan Kopp (Amy), Brittany Creamer (Connor), MK Kopp (John), Nikki Creamer; and great grandchild Grady Kopp. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26th, 2024, at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana (2600 Johnston St., Lafayette, LA 70503) and/or Lafayette Animal Shelter & Care Center (410 N Dugas Road, Lafayette, LA 70507).
