Kenneth Shelton

Kenneth Shelton, age 75, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home. Kenneth worked in the oil fields for more than 50 years. He worked for many years with Halliburton and then Boss Cementing, where he retired after working for 28 years. Kenneth was a competent man with an excellent work ethic. He was the first to help a neighbor, or anyone, in need. His home was the “homeplace” where all the family would gather. His favorite things were spoiling his family, spoiling his yard, and spoiling the local forest animals (but not cats). He was preceded in death by his parents James and Della Shelton, wife Brenda Shelton, and siblings: Dock Shelton, Bud Shelton, Ed Shelton, Rose Williams, Patricia Sozio, James Shelton, Raymond Shelton, and Sandy Shelton. Kenneth is survived by his sons David Shelton of Henderson, KY and Kevin Shelton and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Kendall of Henderson, KY; sister Jannett Gentry and her husband Larry of Niagara, KY; sister-in-law Paula Shelton of Henderson, KY; brother Edward Oglesby and his wife Mina of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to mention a special niece and 2 nephews who Kenneth and Brenda raised like their own: Christal Zoglmann and her husband John and their children Casey and Lucas of Philpot, KY; Michael Sozio and his wife Jennifer and their children Christopher, Caitlyn, and Cassidy of Newburgh, IN; and Jon Sozio and his daughter Kailey of Newburgh, IN. Relatives and friends are invited to Kenneth’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
