Josie Campbell

Josie Campbell, age 96, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Josie was surrounded by the love of her family when she met Jesus and, at long last, was reunited with her love, Sam, after 40 years apart. Josie retired from Cyanide Plastics in 1992 after many years of loyal service. Her favorite past times were quilting and sewing, a hobby she showed tremendous talent in. Anyone in need of mending, hemming, patching, or stitching knew where to go. She loved spending time outdoors in her garden and on her front porch sitting in her swing. Josie was a member of the Southern Baptist faith and enjoyed attending church when she was able. She loved fellowship with family and friends. Josie was a joyful and adventurous traveler who wasn’t afraid to go to new places; from Mexico to Arizona with family, seeing old friends, and meeting new acquaintances filled her with delight. Her family will treasure their memories of Josie and hold her close in their hearts. Her legacy of love, faith, and joy will live on in them and be passed down through generations to come. In addition to her parents Valter and Mottie Rich, Josie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sam William Campbell; son in law John Guill; and siblings: Florence Thomas, Gertrude York, Lois Hartbarger, Melvina Cantrell, Helen Bean, Clyde Rich, and Alfred Rich. Josie is survived by daughters Joyce Fulkerson and husband D.T. of Henderson, KY and Barbara Guill of Robards, KY; son Melvin Howell and wife Glenda of Bush Creek, TN; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Josie is also survived by dear devoted friends: Kathy Goben of Henderson, KY, Roxanne Buckman, and Debbie Russelburg both of Morganfield, KY. Relatives and friends are invited to Josie’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the funeral home with Reverend Glen Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Pallbearers will be Michael Howell, Matthew Fulkerson, Nathan Fulkerson, Jeremy Seats, Dylan Seats, and Seth Stanley.
