James "Jim" G. Buckman

James “Jim” G. Buckman, age 62, of Jasper, IN, passed away at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper, IN. Mr. Buckman was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Herbert Buckman. Jim was a U.S. Marine veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He loved being a Marine and was a member of the American Legion Posts in both Henderson and Jasper. Jim was employed with The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 for more than 40 years. He loved his horses and mules. Some of his mules were featured in the movie “Dances with Wolves”. Jim rode in the Bronc Rodeo in California and many others. His other passion was motorcycle trikes. He started his own business, Bucket of Bolts Trike Fabrication; he made a career doing what he loved. Every year you could find him at the Little Sturgis Bike Rally. He adored his grandchildren and wanted to pass a law that they would never grow up. In his spare time he enjoyed camping and riding on his pontoon boat on the Ohio River and at Hillman’s Ferry Campground at Land between the Lakes. Survivors include: Companion of 17 years: Teresa “Terri” Friedman of Jasper, IN; 2 Sons: Jimmy Buckman and wife Jennifer of Henderson, KY and Carl Street and wife Randa of Jasper, IN; Mother: Annie Buckman of Henderson, KY; 1 Brother: Steve Buckman of Paducah, KY; 2 Sisters: Brenda Pressley of Henderson, KY and Janet Regan of VA; 12 Grandchildren: Madeline, Callie, Emily, Eliza, and Colton Buckman, Kaylee Howard and Ally, Haley, Eliza, and Ashlyn Street, & Skyler and Chaz Kurtz; Nieces and Nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Jim’s Life Celebration from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2013 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home with the Pastor Rob Kerr officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
