Jacob "J." Leland Husk

Jacob “J.” Leland Husk, age 58, of Henderson, KY, went home to be with the Lord at 1:57 PM, Monday, February 17, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Lucy Smith King Care Center, after his brave fight with cancer. Mr. Husk was a member of Airline Baptist Church and an ordained Deacon. He was a Kentucky Colonel. J. was a member of Corydon Masonic Lodge 799 & Henderson Masonic Lodge 958, where he was past Master of both. He also served several positions with the Grand Lodge. J. worked for over 25 years as a maintenance technician for the Henderson County Board of Education. J. loved camping, his antique semi and motorcycle, but most of all his family. J. was loved by everyone. He influenced so many people and touched so many lives. He loved God, J. lived his faith and was an example to others. His life was his testimony and people knew he was for real. J. was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Newton and Minnie Frances Husk and one brother Herbert N. Husk, Jr. Survivors include: Wife: Teresia Husk; Son: Jacob C. Husk and wife Heather; 2 Daughters: Amanda Waggener and husband Josh & Kelly Brocato and husband Shay; Brother: Terry Husk and wife Donna; Sister: Brenda Sue Harris all of Henderson, KY; 5 Grandchildren: Gabbie Waggener, Tristan Brocato, Jack Waggener, Tyler Brocato, and Charlie Husk; Nephews: Zach Husk, Evan Hopgood, and Jesse Hopgood; Niece: Abby Powell; Great Nieces & Nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to J.’s Life Celebration from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and again on Thursday starting at 8:00 AM until service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the funeral home with Brother Raymond Abbott and Pastor Nathan Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. A Masonic Service will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM led by Henderson Masonic Lodge 958. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Anthony’s Hospice Pallbearers will be: Jacob C. Husk, Cosby Shelton, Billy Austill, Ben Payne, Brad Oglesby, J.D. Douglas, Carl Grossman, and Bubby McCormick. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
