Eric Samples

Eric Samples, age 45, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 7:14 p.m., on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Eric worked for Toyota for just shy of 10 years. He was very smart, had a kind heart, and was funny. Eric loved playing guitar and was a talented artist. He was an avid sports card collector and was a big Philadelphia Eagles and Duke basketball fan. He took great pride in looking good and smelling good too. Eric’s family was precious to him, especially his mom who was his best friend. He loved his children dearly and his new dog he bought for his mom “Spudrock”. Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Albert and Margaret Weldon, paternal grandparents Shirley and Helen Samples, and his daughter Diamon Samples. Eric is survived by his daughters Cierra Samples (Drake Hill) of Henderson, KY and Jaidyn Samples of Chandler, IN; sons Corey Samples (Katie) of Spottsville, KY and Cass Samples of Henderson, KY; parents Vickie Sutton (Earl Byrne) of Henderson, KY and Mark Samples of Henderson, KY; sister Emily Brown of Henderson, KY; brothers: Alex Sutton (Courtney) of Eddyville, KY, Andrew Sutton (Brittni) of Henderson, KY, and Travis Buckreis of Henderson, KY; grandchildren Wesley Hill and Sydnee Hill; as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Eric’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend John Brumfiel officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
