Dwight Leighton Hall

Dwight Leighton Hall, age 78, of Henderson, KY, passed away Friday, July 8th, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born in Hennepin, Minnesota on August 26th, 1943, to Bueford Glenn and Grace Maretta Anderson Hall. Dwight moved around several locations as a young child, as his father was a Baptist minister. He was an early believer in Jesus and often leaned on his faith throughout his life. After graduating from high school he entered the Navy and served from 1963-65, then returned to his family in Britt, Iowa. He soon met Linda Marie O'Rourke, whom he would marry and remain married to for almost 45 years, until her death in 2011. He moved to Aurora, CO in 1970 and he began his career in building maintenance for Colorado National Bank where he worked his way into a building management position over his 20 year career. He then spent the next 20 years as the maintenance supervisor at Cherry Creek Retirement Center. He was very technically inclined and loved working and diagnosing mechanical problems in buildings and equipment. Dwight retired in 2010 and they moved to Henderson, KY to be closer to their daughter, Vickie Marie Mills. Dwight enjoyed a good conversation and always loved to make one-liner jokes. His smile and laugh were life giving and enjoyed by all! In addition to his parents, Dwight was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Linda Marie O'Rourke Hall, his sister Sheryl Hewlette, his brother Dennis Hall, his half-sister Linda Hall and half-brother Steven Hall. Dwight is survived by his daughter Vickie Marie Mills and her husband Robert M. "Robby" Mills of Henderson, KY; his son Ed Hall and his wife Sandy of Davie, FL; and his half-brother Bruce Hall of Colorado. He is also survived by grandchildren Caleb Mills and his wife Hannah, Chelsea Mills, Noah Mills, Amanda Welch and her husband Jake, Dylan Hall, and recently born great-grandchild Halle Ruth Mills. A private burial will occur at a later date at the Western Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery in Hopkinsville, KY.
