David Clark Willingham

David Clark Willingham, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:20 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Methodist Hospital, Henderson, KY. David was a Henderson native. David was the owner and operator of Wrights Excavating for over 45 years. He worked very hard to build his business. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church for over 20 years. David was past Master at both Jerusalem Lodges #9 and #958. He was a member at the Rizpah Temple in Madisonville, KY and was a Kentucky Colonel. David enjoyed spending his time outdoors, his favorite hobbies included: fishing, boating, and gardening. Most of all David loved his family, and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nellie Willingham, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Survivors include: Wife of 27 years: Gail Willingham of Henderson, KY 2 Sons: Darin Simpson and wife Bonnie Rob Simpson 2 Daughters: Vicky Henning and husband Wayne all of Owensboro, KY Lisa Jones and husband Chad of Henderson, KY 12 Grandchildren: Amy Forker and John of Sebree, KY Richie Nunn and Terri of Sebree, KY Drake Jones and Millie Jones of Henderson, KY Courtney Smeathers, Ashlie Simpson, Derrick O’Bryan, Nathan Simpson, Maddox Simpson, Chelsea Stratton, Jax Simpson, and Jaclyn Simpson all of Owensboro, KY 8 Great-Grandchildren: Lauren Collins and husband Raymond, Sgt. Brock Forker, Colton Nunn, Hayden Nunn, Chloe Nunn, Presleigh Smeathers, Ava K. Simpson, and Lucas Stratton Nieces and Nephews His 2 Yorkies: Sunshine and Baby Girl Relatives and friends are invited to David’s Life Celebration from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday and again on Tuesday starting at 9:00 AM until service at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the funeral home with the Reverend Ted Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro, KY. Masonic service will be held by the Jerusalem Lodge #9 at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
