Charles Wayland Patmore

Charles Wayland Patmore, age 76, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Charles graduated from Henderson County High School. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during Vietnam. Charles held many jobs over the course of his life before becoming disabled due to numerous conditions as a result of exposure to Agent Orange, some including being a groundskeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kirby, and a care giver for Paul B. Moss and O.B. Springer. Charles was preceded in death by his parents William Henry “Teddy” and Alice Whittinghill- Patmore, brothers: William Henry Patmore, Norman Eugene “Buddy” Patmore, Lewis Edward “Eddie” Patmore, and twin-brother James “Jimmy” Leland Patmore, and his sisters Lou Ellen “Toni” Eblen and Sara Jane Turley. Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years Hilary Jean Lynn- Patmore of Henderson, KY; children: Robin Lynn Patmore of Henderson, KY, Christopher Wayland Patmore of Henderson, KY, and Melissa Jean Patmore- Buchanan (Jason) of Henderson, KY; sisters: Janet Ashby (Phillip) of Geneva, KY, Dottie Hortin of Evansville, IN, and GiGi Sauer of Henderson, KY; 8 grandchildren: George Latham (Erin), Eric M. Buchanan (Alicia), Destardie “Star” Mortis, Oscar W. Patmore, Keshawn G. Buchanan (Raeven), Kali Jean Buchanan, and twins Kendall M. Gonzalez and care giver Kennedy L. Courtney (Seth); 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Charles’ Life Celebration from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. until the service time on Friday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY.
