Rev. Calvin Coolidge Cornelius "CCC" Rev. Calvin Coolidge Cornelius, age 83, of Henderson, KY, went to live with his Lord and Savior that he has served so well in his pastorate of over 50 years. He was born in Russellville, KY. where he married his sweetheart, Frances Shelton 65 years ago. He attended Columbia College, Lindsay Wilson College and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Divinity from Kentucky Wesleyan. He graduated in five years, while working full time and supporting a family of five He served as a Methodist minister throughout Western and Central Kentucky including Sardis, Depoy, New Liberty, Wolf Creek, Slaughters, Earlington, Providence, Clay, Grand Rivers, Eddyville, Pembroke, and other area churches. He preached the way he lived, with laughter and joy in his heart. Humor in his storytelling was his trademark and he is fondly remembered by those who heard his sermons about the lessons of life form the Holy Bible. Rev. Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Sanders Cornelius, his brothers James Cornelius, Warren Cornelius, Cecil Cornelius, Harrison Cornelius, and a sister Nella Mae Brigance. Rev. Cornelius was a Methodist minister. Survivors include: Loving wife of 65 years: Mary Frances Cornelius Henderson, KY 2 Sons: Donald Cornelius and fianc?e Marina Nyberg Acworth, GA Billy Joe and his wife Anita Cornelius Lexington, KY 1 Daughter: Brenda Marks-Herron Henderson, KY 1 Sister: Christine Orange Toledo, OH 5 Grandchildren: Tracy Marks and wife Karen Houston, TX Troy Marks and wife Kendra Henderson, KY Tech Sgt. Chad Cornelius Washington D.C Audra Boyd and husband Stephen Atlanta, GA Dionne Cornelius Bethesda , MD 4 Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 28th 2008 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Henderson, KY. Rev. Ted Burke and Rev. Travis Bryan will officiate. And a visitation at O'Roark United Methodist Church, Russellville, KY, at 1:30 PM, followed by a brief service. Burial will be in O'Roark Cemetery, Russellville, KY. Friends may call from 3:00 till 7:00 on Sunday, July 27th, at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY, and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Henderson, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to: Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, or the American Heart Association.
