Bettye “Aingee” Joyce Meyer Bettye “Aingee” Joyce Meyer, age 91, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Bettye worked for 47 years as a bank teller for Independence Bank. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Belleview United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed teaching children’s church. Bettye was a member of the Smith Mills Volunteer Fire Department, the Smith Mills Lions Club, and a member of the Eastern Star. Bettye loved to cook and spend time outdoors gardening. She was very adventurous and was always on the go until she physically wasn’t able to be, but she still talked about and made plans. Bettye had a way of making everyone feel special and important. One of her favorite activities was sitting on the porch and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bettye was preceded in death her parents Harry and Pascal Wheeler, her husband Charles “Buddy” Meyer, her brother James Murray Wheeler, and her two sons Michael Claude Meyer and James Mitchell Meyer. Bettye is survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Culver of Smith Mills, KY; two grandchildren Chelsea Hillyard (Dillan) of Smith Mills, KY and Zachary C. Meyer of Henderson, KY; her sister Bonnie Newman of Mississippi; great-grandchildren Nora Meyer and Buddy Hillyard; several nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved neighbors Karen and Richard Hannebauer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Anthony’s Hospice and to all of the caregivers that helped take care of Bettye. Relatives and friends are invited to Bettye’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Belleview United Methodist Church in Smith Mills, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the church with Reverend Steve Hale, Reverend Ray Buckman, and Reverend Donald House officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Mills Cemetery in Smith Mills, KY.
