Anna G. "Tootie" Hite

Anna G. “Tootie” Hite, age 90, of Smith Mills, KY, passed away at 7:49 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Redbanks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, KY. Anna was born in Waverly, KY and was raised on their family farm. She came from a very large family. After she married Jack they moved to Zion where they started their family. They decided to move to Phoenix, AZ, where they lived for six years, to be close to family members. They eventually moved back to Henderson where she began working for Aeroquip Corporation. After several years she returned to being a full time homemaker. She was well known for her skill at cards and taught all the children how to play. She enjoyed traveling and playing bunco with her group of friends. Anna enjoyed cooking and canning vegetables from her own garden. She made the best candy, and was known for her divinity and fudge. Family was an important focus in her life. She looked forward to her family reunions and once took home a Blue Ribbon for her homemade candy. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was able to celebrate her 90th birthday with a party in Union County on June 25th with all of her family and friends. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Eileen Greenwell, her husband, Martin Edward “Jack” Hite, son, Mike Hite, 2 brothers, Don Greenwell and Jerry Greenwell, sister, Agnes Girten, grandson, Patrick Hite. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Jackie Bulman Henderson, KY Pam Gipson Waverly, KY 5 Sons: Kenny Hite Henderson, KY Eddie Hite Evansville, IN Jerry Hite Smith Mills, KY Steve Hite Henderson, KY Marty Hite Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Juanita Hagan Waverly, KY Doris Jean Greenwell Evansville, IN 5 Brothers: Herman Greenwell Henderson, KY Lyle Greenwell Evansville, IN Willard Greenwell Morganfield, KY Bobby Greenwell Sullivan, KY Billy Greenwell Eddyville, KY Several Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Anna’s Life Celebration from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday and again on Saturday until 9:30 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Larry McBride officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery in Union County, KY. A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.
