Robert Edward Wilke

Robert Edward Wilke, age 67, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 12:17 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Cora Wilke, sister Ann Wilke, brothers Herb Wilke and Walter “Butch” Wilke, and his parents-in-law James “Rudy” and Mary Jane Royster. Robert was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for AT&T for 29 years. Robert was an avid music connoisseur and amassed an impressive collection of vinyl records and cd’s. He enjoyed watching U.K. basketball. Robert loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world and they treasured their “PoPo”. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sandy Royster Wilke of Henderson, KY; daughter Shelly Wilke Coomes and her husband Heath of Henderson, KY; son Robert Eric Wilke and his wife Carrie of Newport, NH; sisters Sue Wilke Fellman and her husband Chuck and Cathie Wilke Gentry both of Bay Town, TX; sisters-in-law Carol Wilke of Murray, KY and Judy Wilke of Lebanon, TN; 8 grandchildren: Morgan Gibbs, Jaycee Busby, Treg Wilke, Madisyn Wilke, Natalie Butler, Landyn Wilke, Liam Wilke, and Kannon Coomes; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Robert’s Life Celebration from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick O’Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY/ Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Pallbearers will be Treg Wilke, Jimmy Clark, Dave Kindle, Heath Coomes, Darren Dockemeyer, Randy Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Landyn Wilke, Liam Wilke, and Kannon Coomes.
