Peggy Higginson

Peggy Ann Higginson, age 87, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:57 AM, Monday, May 1, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Peggy was a native of Union County, KY. She was married to J.R. Higginson for 67 years. She was retired from Bell South after 25 years of service. Peggy was a 69-year member of Loyal Chapter Order of Eastern Star #274. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Moreland “Moley” Bradford, Brothers: J.V. Bradford, Lyle Bradford, Thee Bradford, and Stanford “Buck” Bradford, Sisters: Betty Jane Grant, Hallie Bayley, and Regina Hally, Nephew: Alan Grant, Lifelong friends: Jackie Floyd and Maggie Girten Survivors include: Husband of 67 years: J.R. Higginson of Henderson, KY Daughters: Mesia J. Higginson Tally and husband Philip of Bradenton, FL Iris Jean Croft and husband Larry of Bradenton, FL Faithful and Committed Daughter: Vicki Higginson of Henderson, KY Son: Brad Higginson and wife Allie of Henderson, KY Her loving and dearest sister-in-law: Lucille Bradford of Pontiac, IL 10 Grandchildren: Lacey Shuttleworth, Chase Higginson, Cain Shuttleworth, Logan Higginson, Rachael Tally, Camron Tally, Brooke Higginson, Charlee Kate Higginson, Ella Rose Higginson, and Smith Davis Higginson. 1 Great Grandchild: Holden Bradford Higginson Devoted Niece: Pam Grant & Special Nephew: Justin Grant Peggy suffered from complications of surgery. During this time, she had remarkable friends and family that gave their time unselfishly and relentlessly; including Mesia Higginson, Iris Croft, Lacey Shuttleworth, Vicki Higginson, Chase Higginson, and Brad Higginson. Many friends stayed committed to their friendship by visiting frequently and keeping her in prayer, especially her lifelong friend Ruth Weaver. Her other friends include Sheila Basham, Bonnie Liles, Betty Humpston, Cora-Lee Sheffer, and Patricia Branson. She served God diligently here on Earth by giving unselfishly and loving unconditionally. Although she will be missed, Heaven gained an angel on Monday. The family would like to thank Chapel Hill Church and its members for all their prayers and support during this time. Pallbearers will be: Camron Tally, Chase Higginson, Logan Higginson, Cain Shuttleworth, Ronnie Bradford, Justin Grant. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Smith Davis Higginson and Holden Higginson Relatives and friends are invited to Peggy’s Life Celebration from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Tapp Funeral Home and on Friday starting at 10:00 AM until service time at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday, May 5, 2017 at the church with Reverend Ted Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY. An Order of Eastern Star Ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home.
