Joyce Ann Septer

Joyce Ann Septer, age 73, of Spottsville, KY, passed away peacefully at home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice at 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, February 21, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Barbara (Danley) Caruthers. Joyce was a loving wife and mother. She was a faithful follower of Christ who attended church regularly, most recently New Hope Baptist Church. Joyce was a gifted musician and gave her time and talents playing the piano and organ at church. After she retired from her career at PB&S Chemicals, Joyce and Tom spent 3 years with North American Mission Board as voluntary missionaries at Baldwin Baptist Youth Camp in Elberta, AL. Later she joined Tom in obtaining her CDL license and spent time driving cross country trucking through all the states and Canada. Joyce enjoyed crocheting and knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband, Thomas Septer, Joyce is survived by daughter Tammy Septer Logsdon and her husband Brian of Evansville, IN; son Thomas Septer, Jr and his wife Terri of Spottsville, KY; brothers Doug Caruthers and Randy Caruthers and his wife Terri both of Kansas; grandchildren: Magen Gelzleichter and her husband Aaron, Trasity Shores and her husband Ray, Wilson New, and Blake Septer; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Noah, Willow, Charlotte, Emylia, Trinity, Gideon, Alya, and Knox; nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Joyce’s Life Celebration from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday starting at 1:00 p.m. at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the funeral home with the Reverend David Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. The family would like to thank St. Anthony’s Hospice for their extraordinary care over the past five months; most especially a heart felt thank you to Lindsey and Mary for their loving and tender care of Joyce. Pallbearers will be Randy Caruthers, Wilson New, Magen Gelzleichter, Brian Logsdon, Nolan Septer, and David Septer. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Septer, Trasity Shores, Gary Mason, Larry Ivie, Charlie McCollom, and Bruce Martin.
