Frances Marie Kellen

Frances Marie Kellen, age 91, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 3:38 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Marie was preceded in death by husband of 47 ½ years, James Shirley Kellen. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Onie and Mable Oglesby, and one sister, Sue Powell. Marie was born in Poole, KY, on June 14, 1926. She enjoyed needlework, Kentucky Basketball, gardening, and her family. She retired from Henderson County High School, where she was a cook and later the manager of the cafeteria for 30 years. Marie was a member of Immanuel Baptist for more than 50 years, and in later years a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Glenda Sutton and her husband Terry of Henderson, KY Nancy Felty and her husband Darrel of Henderson, KY 5 Grandchildren: Brad Sutton and his wife Erin, of Dallas, TX, Ashley Sutton, of Henderson, KY, Jay Sutton and his wife Jessica, of Fort Worth, TX, Carl Felty and his wife Ashley, and Hayley Mortis and her husband Mark, both of Henderson, KY. 6 Great Grandchildren: Catesby and Collier Sutton, of Dallas, TX, Merrick and Henry Mortis, Cain and Luca Felty, all of Henderson, KY. 2 Sisters: Gene White of Henderson, KY Delma Maxberry of Owensboro, KY Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Marie’s Life Celebration from 2:00- 7:00 PM on Sunday and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until the service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Todd Linn, PhD officiating assisted by Reverend Hollis Marshall. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Pallbearers will be Brad Sutton, Jay Sutton, Carl Felty, Mark Mortis, Steve Powell, and Donnie White Expressions of sympathy may take form of contribution to the Lucy Smith King Care Center 2410 S.
