Bob Allen Smith

Bob Allen Smith, age 86, of Sebree, KY, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Bob was born in Evansville, IN to the late Richard and Dorothy Smith. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Mechanical Arts Trade School in Evansville, Indiana in 1955. On November 10, 1954, Bob married the love of his life, the late Donna Jane Smith. They enjoyed life and raising their family together for 64 years before she passed away on October 16, 2018. Bob had many careers: Intelligence Military Police when he was in the army, a Kentucky State Policeman, part time farmer, truck driver, but he spent the longest time being an insurance adjuster. Bob attended Church of Christ in Poole, Kentucky. He enjoyed farming, hunting, traveling with Donna, and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Dorothy Smith, as well as his wife Donna Jane Smith. He is survived by his daughter Tonya Knight and her husband Brett of Hanson, KY; sons Allen Smith and his wife Vicki of Henderson, KY and Tony Smith of Franklin, KY; sister Linda Rosson of Memberes, NM; 3 brothers: Kenny Bohleber of Morristown, TN, Mike Bohleber and Timmy Bohleber both of St. Phillips, IN; 5 grandchildren: Angela Dukes and her husband Sammie, Joshua Smith and his wife Cindy, Thad Knight and his wife Ashley, Daniel Knight and his wife Jorden, and Autumn Herrington and her husband John; 6 great-grandchildren: Colbie Dukes, Katelynn Smith, Coraline Knight, Scarlett Knight, Penelope Knight, and William Brett Knight; and 1 great-great-grandson Avery Smith. Relatives and friends are invited to Bob’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with brother James Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville, IN. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
