Betty Scott

Betty Scott, age 79, of Owensboro, KY, passed away at 9:52 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Betty was a member of Beals Pentecostal Church in Beals, KY for over 60 years. She treasured her Bible. She had the heart of a servant and was such a giver, gave of herself so freely. She loved her home and her yard being in order and enjoyed entertaining. Betty always had good food to “cook up in no time at all” for family and friends. She was so proud of her family, and always bragged about them. She was a captivating storyteller and the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren loved listening to her. She was proud of her work history and always gave her best for her employers. Betty had many fears, but she was incredibly strong. In addition to her parents, William and Edith Thompson, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Kenneth Scott, siblings, Wayne Thompson, Melvin Thompson and Mary York. Survivors include: 3 Daughters: Connie Sights and husband Elward Robards, KY Kathy Brown Bloomington, IN Genia Page and husband Bruce Ferdinand, IN 2 Sisters: Janice Embry & Linda Scott 6 Grandchildren: Kimberly Christian, Katrina White, Kendra Creamer, Jonathan Reynolds, Staff Sgt. Garland K. Page and Katelin Wallace 11 Great Grandchildren: Jack Simpson, Joshua Christian, Lila White, Margaret White, Harrison Creamer, Samuel Creamer, Alec Thomas, Rylee Thomas, Aidyn Page, Jaxon Wallace, Kenneth Reynolds Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Betty’s Life Celebration from 1:00- 8:00 PM Sunday and again on Monday starting at 9:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Barry Skaggs officiating. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Henderson, KY.
